Fear of Failure

Some people fear spiders, some heights, others maybe fear ending up alone, but my fear has always been failure. I wouldn't call it a fear really, but that is definitely always my driving force, the internal motor I have to get back up after every fall. Its having that courage to keep going no matter what knocks life may bring your way. Because courage and bravery are not the definition of a person having no fear, everyone has fear, they are the character of a person who recognizes the goal is greater than the fear and choose to stare it down and overcome it.

But you really cannot fear failure for one very important reason; failure will always be where you learn your greatest lessons and where you make your greatest growth. Failure is important, more so than success, because its easy to be happy and on top of the world, but it is when we are at our lowest that we determine the person we will be at our highest. Quite often failure is the first step to real success. Keep this thought in your mind as you may be struggling with life changes and a down economy

Have courage mes cheries!

Open Roads on a Happy Easter

I'm off today darlings on a road trip through France. For Easter vacation I'm heading to Cannes for a couple weeks, and I'm pretty excited about all the photo opportunities and the beautiful weather. I've always wanted to see the Mediterranean so I can't wait for the blue waters!

The Open Road got me thinking about my road. Its funny if you had asked me ten years ago, even five years ago, where my life was going I never would have told you here. Since I was twelve years old my endpoint has always been fashion in New York City, but what a crazy ride life takes you on to get from just point A to point B. I'm constantly in awe of the many blessings God has bestowed on my life. Some things I really wanted and worked for, and others (like France) I only thought would be nice, but never actually considered them possible. This past year has been such a year of growth for me, and a year to truly understand how much I have. Its also a year in which I have had the least, with no job and little money, I've had to really rely on my loved ones for a lot, and how humbling it is to see how many wonderful people and things God has placed in your life when you are forced to step back and look at it.

On this important Easter Sunday, I want to take just a second to thank Jesus for everything that is going on with me personally, even the things to come that I'm still unsure about. I don't know what your beliefs are mes cheries, but I'm sure there are some of you who disagree with mine, but I surely respect your decision. I'd also like to take a second to personally apologize for any Christian who has burned you in the past, I've heard horror stories of people using religion to get their way, and its certainly the saddest tragedy of all to give the God you "believe" in that kind of reputation. But I hope you are never offended by any posts of mine, as I share my thoughts and use this blog as a source of escape for them. We're all in this world together and holding hands is the best way to keep it nice!

I hope you have an wonderful Easter lovelies!

Sunny Saturday and Moving On

Well my darlings I made an important decision this week. After a good run, and a doss of clarity, I'm letting go of someone who I probably should have long ago. Funny thing is that rather than feeling sad, I felt lighter. I felt like this burden, this stress I've been carrying around for months is just gone now. Its interesting being the person on the hook, the person being made promises that don't come to fruition, the person that sees all the potential for something to work but never gets that reciprocated vision with the effort it needs to become a reality. I'm the kind of person that does not like to waste time, when I see something worth while, something that has a future, I put my time and my heart all in. Then, what is supposed to happen is that other person does the same, a 50/50 road you both travel down together. But know this darlings, if that person in your life isn't doing that for you, its because it boils down to one simple fact "They're just not that into you." Its a hard fact to swallow for something you want badly, but once you can manage it and walk away from it, you can open yourself up to finding something you deserve; someone who really deserves you. Its simple in theory and very hard in actuality but well worth the strains to get there.

So I challenge you darlings to know your worth and don't accept anything less than you deserve from anyone. Always be your wonderful, beautiful selves and someone will come along to sweep you off your feet and treat you just like the princess you always have been!

Much love and strength to you darlings!

Good on Paper Guys

What is about "Good On Paper" Guys that is so hard to add up? I know you all know exactly who I'm talking about. They have everything you are looking for..yet somehow they don't have that undescribable thing that brings someone from friend to boyfriend, boyfriend to husband. They are safe and nice but dont ever leave that, and its not that this means you are looking for a "bad guy" aka a mean guy, just ...something is missing. All the resume requirements are there but something still comes up short. No za za zu, no spark to pop your foot.

Life Turning Pages

It's funny how life unfolds before your eyes. How it changes. How it changes you. As a child, life is all about the future, what you will study, what you will grow up to be. The older you get the more you live by memories rather than plans. Rather than everything being new, everything has a memory attached to it. I wonder if the twenties are the only time you truly live in the present? You are finally living out everything your life has acculminated to thusfar and it's still only about you. You're not teaching memories and old lessons to your children or worried now about their future. You're not old enough yet to worry too much about your future of retirement. You can just live in the moment... Or at least I sure hope you do.
