Must Have | Doctor's Bag

What I want now is a sturdy black handbag. A purse that will stand up without assistance and hold my daily essentials without them getting lost in an abyss. Is that really too much to ask? I think no. I have always had a not-so-small obsession with the Doctor's Bag which has a pop up type opening that I find unique...and I really must have! Problem is since they are unique I cannot find one I like for the life of me.

I need a black bag and the few Doctor's Bags I do find that are cute, are brown or tan. I have a Mulberry satchel for my staple brown bag. Know I need my staple black bag. This one above would actually a spot-on must have men's bag for any stylish gent in the market for  good bag. Go for that rad umbrella too!

Of course Serena Van der Woodsen has my bag! Anyone seen my black doctor's bag?
I'm in definite search for it, and if you can help I'd be much obliged!

What is your must have bag?

Must Have | NYC Moroccan Terrace

It if finally terrace season again and despite the horrible weather of the past few days, NYC will soon be in a constant warm sunny state...and I must begin to prepare my terrace for the season. At the end of the day, our NYC apartment terrace is pretty cute already, but it still feels thrown together for me, and I'd like to create an oasis to escape to. A Moroccan Oasis to be exact. So I have begun to pool my inspiration on Pinterest of course for my Must Have Moroccan Terrace!

My must have dream Moroccan terrace first will need a bunch of floor lanterns to congregate in a corner. They will their candles lit for ambience and their multi colored glass will give great warmth and decor.

After that I will finally need to get a nice Moroccan tile table set, complete with the 4 matching chairs and all. The table we have now is a left over from the previous owner and matches nothing...it needs to upgrade.

And for a splash of color, rich Moroccan fabric panels. This can cover the unsightly wall on our terrace that I have no clue what to do with. We have one great brick wall and then the NYC Skyscrapers skyline of course but this random silver wall I feel needs some love.

What else should I include in my
Must Have Moroccan Terrace plans?

Barefoot Sandals and a Gypsy Spirit

After playing frisbee barefoot in Central Park this past gorgeous New York City weekend, my inkling for some foot jewelry became stronger. I can't say I'm much of a gypsy spirit but I do think barefoot sandals have quickly rose to the top of my Must Have list. I saw the idea over a decade ago in a wedding magazine for a barefoot beach wedding and the idea has always stuck with me. I was reminded when the recent Free People catalogue arrived at my apartment.

The Free People barefoot sandals are a bit too costumey for my taste. I don't want to look like a Holly Hobby Hippie. However I found myself turning to Etsy to solve this gypsy inspired jewelry dilemma and oh the options it provided...

There were barefoot sandals on the more jewelry side of the spectrum. These personally keep more of that gypsy spirit to me, and I do like them, however I wonder if they would be as comfortable as the crocheted option which feels more like a hippie.

I do believe these cream ones are my favorite, however I can't help but pine over these elaborate black ones. This Etsy shop has caught my eye before but this seems a more useful option from their selection. At $53 dollars it is also on the more expensive side than the other $15-20 options, but they are fun to look at... so intricately woven.

So do your feet have the gypsy spirit
that mine long for this summer?

Will you be buying some barefoot sandals?

Must Haves for Spring

Spring has sprung and even though last week it seemed to be playing hide and seek that has not stopped my mind from reeling with the Spring fashion trends I'm ready to rock on the NYC streets! Crop tops, neon, cap toe pumps...all are bright and fresh and my Must Haves for Spring.

Cap Toe Shoes
Whether Louis Vutton or DIY, this pop of neon color on your tired tootsies are sure to put a skip in your step.

Crop Tops
I do hope you haven't skipped your New Year's Gym Resolution too heavily because it is Crop Top season again and I am so excited! My preference on the trend is pairing them with high waisted skirts and shorts, you know you can't give away the farm...if you take from the hem of your shirt, you add to the waist of your bottoms.

Neon
Apparently I'm gravitating toward yellow in particular today, but for this electrified spring fashion trend any hue goes, just as long as its amped up. On a low commitment scale pop in some neon through jewelry, a bag, or scarf, but for a real statement get a maxi skirt, or bright colored shorts as the piece de la resistance in your ensemble.

These Must Haves for Spring are fun like I told you, but also are all afordable to incorporate into your existing wardrobe. And that is the key fashion rule, always stay true to yourself and work with what you have! DIY is great way to amp up some discarded tops into crop tops, or forgotten pumps into cap toe heels. Analyze what you have and be creative mes cheris!

Funny Fashion Girls

For a funny Friday edition, I thought I'd honor the funny fashion girls I get to work with every day. I really love people, and love people watching. Fashion girls are always fabulous, a little neurotic, and very dedicated to their loves...let's watch and learn.

This is how the fashion girls I work with dress everyday. I do love working in an industry (finally) where everyone dresses with style, even when it's not your style it is done on purpose. I love the girl above for example but picture 2 and 4 are too loose and Olsen Chic for my taste. My style is girlier, with shape so I tend to have more fitted, less androgynous pieces.

Funny Fashion Girls Obsessions:

1. Yoga
Bikram, bikram, bikram. It'd be a top trending topic if fashion offices got #Hashtagged. Where is your yoga studio? Who is your instructor? OMG She is totes AMAZING! How long have you been practicing? Did you see the latest LuluLemon yoga line?! I actually am a runner, and like to cross train with dance classes like Zumba and Hip Hop Abs, so yoga...not so much my thing.

2. Coconut Water
Fashion girls live and breathe by the hydrating promises of Coconut Water... How else would you survive the morning following the late nights of fashionably partying? I personally need a little sweetener and swear by VitaCoco, Rihanna endorsed, which tastes better than it's competitors.

3. Celine
This not so little trapeze bag can be seen all over town and in every fashion office at least once. It's the latest staple of the fashion girls for It Bag Status. I personally hate that the sides are designed to stick out like that, but if you love it, it absolutely is great quality.

4. Cleanse
Any craze that involves not eating solid foods to be "healthy" is an automatic go with the fashion girls crowd. I can't speak to the mood of the girls while on the liquid only 24 hour a day diet, but apparently they are a must. Personally...I love food. A lot.

I love my funny fashion girls and I love how entertaining my crazy fast paced industry is. Hopefully you've taken some great pointers on how to assimilate with this society! To watch them in their natural habitat even in you don't live in a fashion capital watch the hilarious video created by Harper's Bazaar, Shit Fashion Girls Say. Every time I watch this movie I feel like I catch something new that cracks me up!

Cheers and have a great weekend!

Must Have: Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 Shoes

The Louis Vuitton runway last Paris Fashion Week was flooded with white and Easter egg inspired pastels, I can't say I cared too much for the Ready to Wear line except for this amazing white dress, but the shoes of this collection are to die for and I simply MUST HAVE them! Starting to save money now...

 {merci Style.com}

These buttoned mules are borderline ankle booties. I love all the elements Louis Vuitton added, classic Mary Jane buttons and straps in sequence with a splash of metallic and a very please color combination.

And as Louis Vuitton does the accessories so well, I am loving this LV parasol. I never knew I needed one until I saw this delicate lace work pattern. Now I suddenly am craving a sunny 75 degree day to go strolling through the park in these shoes and this parasol. I must have both of these now...great.

Black Wedge Pump: My Latest Obsesh

I have been in the market lately for a classic black pump for the office. Well a shoe hit me out of nowhere today and made me realize  why I've been coming up short. I need a black wedge pump! It was love at first sight mes cheris and has quickly become my latest obsesh.

Of course Jimmy Choo would be great to fill this black wedge pump void...but $600 I do not have.

With a slightly more rounded heel and an entire suede finish, heel included, these Kors Michael Kors black wedge pumps may have my name all over them! Also at $189 my latest obsesh is becoming a little more attainable.

Last Minute Shopping: Holiday Dresses

We are almost a week away from Christmas and I can't believe how fast the time has flown. The last minute shopping is kicking into overdrive...have you been browsing the holiday dresses? Have you found the perfect one? Here are the holiday dresses that are catching my eye.

This beauty was spotted during some last minute shopping on Gilt Group.

The back is simply stunning.

Forget holiday dresses, this may be my favorite Little Black Dress ever created.

Oasis dress

Of course you can't go wrong with red, draped, and elegant.

Donna Karan dress

And as a red head, I can't help but be drawn to Kelly Green holiday dresses. I've had this dress burned in my brain ever since Kiera Knightly's stunning performance in Atonement. I would totally rock this at a ball.

My favorite kind of last minute shopping is the kind that involve holiday dresses, because then everything you look at is girly, pretty, and involves you being whisked away in your carriage!

Brand New MacBook Pro!

Well it took longer than expected, but I am officially blogging to you for the first time from my brand new MacBook Pro! It was quite a strain to financially take that jump to Mac, but I have been reassured by all my surrounding Mac community that it will pay off in the end. I will report back in a few on that. Beyond the minor initial frustration of trying to relearn navigation with this new operating system, I am excited to finally have my MacBook Pro.

But you know what that means right? SHOPPING! I will now need a new carry case for my MacBook Pro as well as maybe a cute new briefcase. Patience young grasshopper all things shall come to pass! I was not much up for shopping yesterday since I had a load of To-Do Items to check off now that I finally picked up my new computer...and the fact that it was raining cats and dogs outside in NYC! But I always love the rain, summer rain that is, it is just divine. Maybe its my Carolina upbringing or the feeling that it washes everything anew but summer rain just feels refreshing! That, and it cools down the scorching temperature! Here are some shots I could not pass up the opportunity to snap since I was in such a state of nostalgia yesterday!

And now for the new MacBook Pro bag shopping! All of these lovelies have caught my eye, and they are oh so stylish albeit expensive. I will have to narrow down to just one...hmm...
