NYC Bridal Week 2013 Recap

Bridal Week 2013 has been clicking along here in NYC and what dreamy week it has been. I have been super busy and therefor constantly checking my Pinterest feed to see all the gorgeous dresses for one very important runway in life. Here are some of my favorites, how about you?

Can Oscar de la Renta really do no wrong? Not from my point of view.
His gowns were all a bride's dream. He even added a little Something Blue to some.

Monique Lhullier never disappoints. I love all of her soft chiffon dresses.
That top right with the crystals is especially catching my eye.

Roman Keveza has always been a favorite of mine.
The wrapped dress gives a little Grecian Goddess without being hoakey.

Vera Wang along with some other designers made some bold red statements.
I can't say I'd pick this as my wedding dress, but I definitely love the gown!

Marchesa's line of sheer, peepholes, and even some high to low gowns was fit for a princess.

Justin Alexander had really great style. His dresses are beautiful of course, but out of every runway show, his hair and beauty was impeccably done and by far my favorite.

So who would you pick for your big day?

Libertine Fall 2012 and Sitting Front Row

The last stop on my blurbs road about the craziness of New York Fashion Week is Libertine Fall 2012. The Libertine line is studded and rocked out. Lots of rhinestone skulls and punk rock glory. And guess what? Yours truly got a front row seat for the action! Here are a few shots I snapped from my phone!

And here is the show video...look at who's sitting front row on the left...it's me! Just look for an unbelievable amount of Strawberry Blond hair if you have any trouble. So what do you think of the Libertine Fall 2012 line? I personally loved the 2nd look I have pictured above. Everything else was a bit too bedazzled for my taste, I love things that are Embellished bien sur...but Embellished in a strategic composition, not just for the sake of being sparkly. But the feel of the show was very fun, and it never gets old to take a trip to Milk Studios...always cool.

Fashion Show | Yigal Azrouel

I realize it has been several weeks since New York Fashion Week, but believe it or not, I still have some behind the scenes photos for you guys! Yigal Azrouel was a fun show to work because it was in one of my favorite fashion show spaces, The Highline Stages. Exposed brick, Meatpacking District industrial chic, and of course fashion...it's all a great combination.

Nestled next to the Highline Park at the ground floor of the Milk Studios building is The Highline Stages, the setting for the Yigal Azrouel fashion show Fall/Winter 2012. After the seat cards have been placed, along with the run of show (programs), and any front row gifts, rehearsal can begin.

The models, most usually still in Converse sneakers, skinny jeans, and hair rollers, walk the Yigal Azrouel runway after the camera crew are in place in the photographer's pit. This is the opportunity the fashion show crew has to adjust lighting, make sure the timing of the music and models walks is in sync and address any last minute changes.

After a successful Yigal Azrouel rehearsal at The Highline Stages, the house opens and the people fill in to take their seats. Then the lights will dim and the show, complete with fully dressed and styled models, can begin. The crowd gets quite, the front row tucks their feet and purses underneath their seats for the camera's best view, and the music fades up.

Yigal Azrouel had a very chic line full of many gorgeous trapper hats, long leather gloves, and well constructed modern clothing. A bit too androgrenous in the shape for me, but beautifully made nonetheless. Here are a sampling of my favorites from his New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012 line. I hope you like winter white and fur...you'll be getting a lot this go around!

Meanwhile at Paris Fashion Week

J'adore Paris. It's the city of love, the city of lights, and the city of fashion! I always love trolling the internet for the goodies of Paris Fashion Week and boy are there some great ones. I must say this Fall 2012 Fashion Week season has been a really great one. I have had hope restored in the creativity of the industry. More color, and beautiful feminine clothing has graced the runway this season than there has been in a while.

Still pretty new to the Ready to Wear scene, Louis Vuitton is not doing too shabby. Although I cannot say that this collection was my style exactly, I loved the execution, and I loved the inspiration. An actual custom steam engine chugged it's way down the catwalk and then each model, complete with her own bellhop carrying her LV bags, walked in three piece dress suits.

Just like LV,  a lot of lines at Paris Fashion Week are sporting pants under a skirt. I'm not a huge fan of that look because I feel it does nothing for your figure, I do like how Mr. Lagerfeld executed it chez Chanel. The jewel encrusted lace skirt that wrapped around the sleek pants and plenty proportions of sheer...I seriously was swooning. And then many models also in gloves this year, but I love that Chanel has chosen Opera Length Fingerless gloves! I have never seen this. What a cool downtown edgy spin on the ultra uptown classy accessory!

Elie Saab dabbled more with actual Ready to Wear this year than I have seen him attempt in at least 8 seasons, where I have seen more of his signature couture gowns. I seriously could not love this jumpsuit more. With his touch of that shimmering sheer fabric fit with a great pant, this woman is super chic.

The line of Kanye West...yes THAT Kanye West, was surprisingly chic but not a lot of diversity, but he's new to the fashion scene...he has a lot of growth as a designer to make I suppose. I really enjoyed the leather looks he styled together. This leather vamp ensemble topped with fur I would so rock in NYC. I do wish he would've represented at NYC instead of Paris Fashion Week though, not sure I'm on board.

Sarah Burton has turned out another fun Alexander McQueen line. Many looks dealing with white and exploring this triangle shape, I was smitten for this cape with the gathered wide hem! Since the dress is cinched, it still allows you to look curvy and feminine and still fashion chic.

Paul & Joe played with lots of texture and rich colors which gets instant brownie points in my book. I also always enjoy men on the runways. I especially loved this last look color blocking along with mixing velvet, lace, and silk. They are dramatic and are all working together very well for a bold statement. Of course I would not be bold enough to rock a see through lace top braless, even with those pockets, but that's what models are for n'est-ce pas?

Valentino is no surprise to appear featured for fabulousness, but right out the gate, Look #1 is a leather cape. Seriously? Do you even need the rest of the line? It's amazing, and takes the cake. Bravo Valentino on my favorite caped look at Paris Fashion Week!

What's Happening on the Runways: London

Last week was London Fashion Week and here is a recap of the looks I'll be drawing inspiration from for my wardrobe for Fall 2012.

Wine will definitely be the color of the season, but did it quite as fun as the bold red legs of Vivienne Westwood Red Label. I always find I love several things from her line and I will so be getting some red tights to follow suit.
{Merci for all photos Style.com}

Now I always get a kick out of unique fashion shows (I'm a big fan of different), and the Burberry Prorsum show, beyond being fab as usual had the models in snow with umbrellas for their final walk! And I absolutely love the cropped puff coats in the Fall 2012 line. I usually have a strict NO Walking Sleeping Bag Policy, so the cropped provides a  nice alternative!

Inspired by Marlene Dietrich, the Fall 2012 line of Marios Schwab was swimming in beautiful dresses topped with too-cool-for-school hats! You know I love a good hat. And these side sloped babies come packed with sass!

Technicolor patterns are definitely a thing of 2012 and although very reminiscent of Prabal Gurung's S/S2012 line, I was still loving the electricity in the looks of Peter Pilotto

Although not a line that I would mark as innovative, that is not necessarily a bad thing. Todd Lynn (who's also kind've a cutie) had me loving about every look that walked the runway. Bold colors, feminine silhouettes. This one look in particular with the full sleeve leather gloves had me floored! Forget Opera Length he has upped the ante!

That's what happening on the runways in London.
Color, as I love to always count on from this town, edge, and class.

What was your favorite London look?

Behind the Scenes Fashion Show: Jenny Packham

This Fashion Week F/W 2012 was a whirlwind and I forget that I still have so much to post for you guys. My account was Jenny Packham and I was so excited to work on this fashion show! Jenny's line is adored by red carpet goers and royalty alike and she is one of my favorite designers, and I am so excited to take you guys Behind the Scenes!

The models always do a practice run of the show,
usually while they are barefoot, in jeans, with curlers in their hair.

Kaylee Defer from Gossip Girl backstage

The Jenny Packham F/W 2012 line did not disappoint with inspiration from Film Noire the runway entrance was filled with smoke and the models emerged like Ingrid Bergman in a Casablanca scene, victory rolls in their hair and all. It was runway perfection.

Kaylee Defer and Dita von Teese sat front row.
Dita has already been spotted at an Oscar after party in one of the collection's dresses.

Me after the show finally feeling like I can breathe...
well as much as you can in a leather black pencil dress!

Here were some of my favorite looks...

Jenny Packham is amazing and her F/W 2012 fashion show did not disappoint.
What was your favorite look from the collection?

Do you love Film Noire?

Spotted: Riverside Park

Back in January New York City was dusted with just a little snow. It was the kind I like because it had melted by the next day. Well I took a stroll through Riverside Park to enjoy the view and to share some pics with you which I posted the next day. I also happened to run into street photographer/blogger extraordinair Lord Ashbury!

He grabbed a shot of me walking in Riverside Park and boy can he take a picture! Now I must apologize because he did happen to catch me with zero makeup on, just popped out of the apartment for a quick stroll and a stop for some groceries...so that goes to show you, you should always look your best walking out of the house. Mais t'inquiete pas my dears, c'est la vie.

Lord Ashbury continually snaps great photos of the style throughout New York City for his site, so be sure to stop by and be inspired. He got plenty of goods from the recent New York Fashion Week and this vixen in the patterned fur has me particularly dreamy eyed.
